"PUNG" Kompanii Nii ******! (Dance Festival ‘New Baltic Dance')

Dance show by Estonian group Kompanii Nii performed during International Contemporary Dance Festival ‘New Baltic Dance' („Naujasis Baltijos šokis“)  in Vilnius. The "PUNG" was made by Renate Valme. So much imagination, many great ideas, energy, joy and passion during just 45 min... It was very powerful experience especially that it was performed in Art Center "Menu Spaustuve" where audience is sitting very close from the scene so there is very intensive contact with dancers.
The show starts even before audience is finishing taking their places, something is rolling on the floor... Than we have huge explosion of images, emotions and moves... Women on high hills is climbing on men's back... The frog becomes a prince... Couples dancing" - one dancer is the water (river or lake) and second is the swimmer in that water... Four glued dancers are rolling... Apeares the cow... Suddenly dancers start to hit themselfs... Dressing, undressing... Than they all stand on the head... One of dancers is playing guitar which is drawn/sewd on another dancer's t-shirt... Oh, so so so many ideas!!!! What an imagination Madame Renate has:)!!!

I think my favourite thread was the "back-front" dance when a girl had hair tied on the face so it looked like it was the back of her head and she was dancing in a couple... with her back to the partner but it looked like they were face to face... Oh, it was really AMAZING and so so so confusing for the brain - i felt my brain was freaking out trying connect legs with head and moves.... CRAZY:)!!!

During all the show dancers are playing with their faces - they are really great at it, especially two women... Choreographer is using lights, clothes, moves and dancer's bodies in really creative way. I am very very impressed by the show and very touched in the end... We could feel that on the scene there were huge loads of emotions, when dancers were fighting, jumping, running, biting, heating eachother faces and than kissing in the end... 

The last scene is great summary of all the show... Planned in every detail - dancers sitting, having their "faces", shoes are placed arroung gas cooker and from the pot standing on the cooker is getting out... Whay????  You will know when you will see the show by yourself;).
