CALVARY ******!!! (Kino Pavasaris)

In my opinion it is the best film of 19th International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris... together with "Gabrielle". Really impressive. This is for me an example how "festival movies" should be - touching present day events (pedophile scandals in church), not giving simple and easy answers, well played and well filmed and first of all leaving spectators with something precious, with something that they wouldn't be able to get by themselves...
Beautiful, very "strong" movie.
A picture of contemporary faith - a look from both sides, from the perspective of people and as well how priests are dealing with nowadays challenges... Maybe it would be better to say, that it shows the condition of modern Catholic Church. It is happening in Ireland but for me it is universal.
Beautiful pictures full of Irish cliffs, sea and fields. Great actors playing very interesting characters.
Film is full of meaningful scenes (eg. a guy in the airport is leaning on the coffin like it was a suitcase) or "golden" sentences like: About death of a dog "Did it hurt you? Yes. Did you cry? Yes. Did you cry when you were reading about boys raped by priests? No.". OK, there are maybe 2 or 3 scenes which are very close from being pathetic but... I guess it is impossible to avoid it when you are talking about love, faith, death etc.

So much to think after leaving cinema... not mentioning that i was crying in the car all way back home;). Really great cinema in all dimensions. Worth watching one more time. Highly recommended.
